Happy Halloween

While I rock some lunch. Happy Halloween. Here are the 3 classics reimagined by me. WolfMan, Frankenstein's Monster and Dracula. Tried to go a little more disturbing with them. Kids look away.
Often asked why I don't have much character/creature work on my site. Maybe it shows...

whats this PolyBrush?

So Im trying out this PolyBrush software. Currently free and in beta phase for about 30 days. Drawing within the program is quite intuitive, if a little fiddly when trying to position the workspace in a specific position. Plan on having fun with it over the coming days though. Here's a little test I did taking a random 'doodle' from PolyBrush in to Keyshot and then Photoshop.

Sketchy Friday

Here we have some early sketches for guard designs. Big and bulky they are used for menial tasks like keeping watch and lifting things. They wear faceless masks partly out of protection and mostly to show their low status in life.

book face

So today we got a random location for a book cover (just for fun) and some alien heads. With the heads I'll be producing more of these as they are pretty quick to develop once Ive collected the shots required. Scott Robertson recently advertised this process. Using a mirrored effect in a camera app you can knock out loads of symetrical designs. Give it a try...

Big creatures have small beginnings...

Morning all. Monday is here and with an hour and 30mins I have been having a bunch o'fun using sketchbook on my mobile with the mirror tool turned on. It lets you basically create perfectly symmetrical forms and with just a black prush I have been knocking out weird creature forms for two reasons. One, so I can make a creature design and two, so I can use the fluid forms for its vehicle which will come later this week (or today even!).

Anyway here's part 1 with a man for scale. Just need to develop a design out of these...

Creature profile

Done my first creature design of the year. This was quite a fun quick process. I should really do more of these as I lack creature/organic/living things in my portfolio. The larger image is on my actual site here and on the Misc page on here
